Confessions of an Anxious Mortician

welcome to my anxious brain

Jack-Hammering Jerk-Face

I fell asleep sometime after 3:00am. I woke up the first time about 4:30am, then again at 6:08am. The next time I looked at the clock it was 8:24am. Then finally at 10:17am I decided to get up for the day. But it wasn’t totally my own decision. One of my close-in-proximity neighbors starting jack-hammering a bunch of cinder blocks in his backyard. I have no idea what he’s building; I’m guessing it’s a deck as he recently removed his back lawn. I realize that getting upset at 10:17 in the morning because of neighborhood noise is silly, but shit, that first jack-hammering noise scared the crap out of me. Ultimately what that means is that I’ll spend the next several hours with heightened anxiety and sensitivity to noise. Oh, and a queasy stomach. That part is always fun! Ugh.
