Confessions of an Anxious Mortician

welcome to my anxious brain

Scratching The Darkness Humor Itch.

I read articles about anxiety disorders at least three times a week. Part of me still feels a need to have my GAD validated, part of me desires the hints and tips for coping, and the part of me wants to know that the all of me isn’t alone. Some of the articles are serious and scholarly, but others are more light hearted.

I like the funny readings the most. After years of approaching problems with darkness and anger, I’ve learned that laughter truly is the best medicine. Now I tackle issues with humor. (And booze, but that’s a different post for a different time.)

A great place to satisfy my darkness humor itch would be Twitter. But since I’m too lazy to actually do it right, I rely on news outlets to weed out the crap and hand feed me the good stuff.

Such an outlet is BuzzFeed.
Recently, I came across an piece from January 2016, entitled, “27 Tweets About Anxiety That Will Make You Laugh Then Cry

I can relate to all twenty-seven, but the following two really hit home. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one laughing in the face of crippling anxiety.
